In my third year (5th semester), I worked under the mentorship of Prof. T.S Mahesh on a project which aimed at introducing the foundational concepts in quantum information and quantum computation.
The project was notionally divided in two parts: the first half was where I learnt all the basic concepts and terminology related to this subject from standard textbooks like "Mike and Ike" and others (these are mentioned in my project report as references). In the second half of the project, I was tasked with reproducing the results of a simple paper by Brody and Guzman. The paper shows how one can use quantum computers to measure fundamental entanglement properties like correlation functions. For that, I learned how to create various quantum circuits and manipulate qubits using Qiskit.
I have tried to document all the important objectives, theories used, and computational methodologies in my project report.
